About Harper
As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#117484 supervised by Karyn Noel LMFT #130487, LPCC #13957), I am passionate about supporting clients navigating the exciting, yet stressful phase of early adulthood. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Chapman University.
During my undergraduate studies at Chapman University, I became involved in the organization, I AM THAT GIRL, a non-profit dedicated to helping college women build confidence by providing them with safe spaces for healthy conversation. As I engaged in weekly discussions, I saw firsthand how many young women were struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, body image struggles, and challenges entering or sustaining romantic relationships. As someone who could relate to these difficulties that so many young individuals face, I found myself drawn to continuing these conversations well beyond the walls of our meeting spaces.
Upon graduating from Chapman, I continued to seek opportunities to connect with young women to help them better understand themselves, build their confidence, and advocate for their needs to be met. As I completed my graduate studies at Pepperdine University, I began my clinical training as a therapist in a transitional living facility for homeless women and children. I worked with women who had been through extensive trauma such as sexual abuse, incest, domestic violence, and human sex trafficking. Additionally, I supported young mothers and children through the reunification process after being separated by the foster care system, focusing on rebuilding trust and strengthening the quality of their relationships. As I’ve moved into private practice, I’ve had the opportunity to guide emerging adults through common phase of life transitions related to school and career, romantic and social relationships, and starting families to ultimately cultivate a balanced and exciting adult life.
I have been fortunate to build a career that combines clinical work, teaching, higher education administration, and advocacy efforts. As a professor at Pepperdine University, I teach graduate-level Clinical Psychology courses such as Techniques of Counseling and Psychotherapy, Preparation for Practicum, and Clinical Practicum. I’ve additionally worked as the Clinical Training and Professional Development Coordinator at Pepperdine University, supporting MFT/PCC students through their fieldwork experiences and building relationships with hundreds of non-profit counseling centers throughout Southern California. As the Pre-Licensed Representative on the Board of Directors for Los Angeles CAMFT, I had the opportunity to engage in advocacy work and provide opportunities for MFT Trainees and Associates to hone their professional development skills. I am incredibly passionate about all of the facets of my work, whether it’s supporting clients, students, or the broader community.
